Chair

  • Dr R M Barney Poole, PT, DPT, FAPTA, AT-Ret has made himself available as an educator, clinician, and volunteer to his colleagues, patients, and community throughout his career. This accessibility has been a hallmark of his leadership role in the physical therapy profession. Dr. Poole is CEO and owner of Performance Physical Therapy of Stockbridge, Georgia an outpatient orthopaedic physical therapy private practice and a division of Human Performance and Rehabilitation Centers, a Confluent Company. Prior to that, he was physical therapist/corporate director of the Atlanta Division of the Human Performance and Rehabilitation Centers, associate professor of anatomy-physiology at Columbus State University, and a teacher, athletic trainer, and coach at Glenwood High School in Phenix City, AL. He earned a BS in physical therapy from Georgia State University, BS in biology from Columbus State, and MEd in secondary education in biology, also from Columbus State and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Alabama State University.

    A member of American Physical Therapy Association Georgia for 37 years, he has served chapter as president, vice president, parliamentarian, program chair, chief delegate, and delegate. In 2001, he was elected Vice Speaker of the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) House of Delegates (HOD) and member of the Board of Directors and served two terms. During this time he was instrumental in designing and implementing the Local Area Network (LAN) system used to track and expedite HOD motions, improving the flow of business during House sessions and was an early advocate of electronic voting in the House. As chair of the APTA Task Force on Public Awareness and Public Relations, Dr Poole provided active mentoring to his constituency and the public, keeping them informed of APTA services available to chapters and components and potential patient/clients. He has also chaired the APTA Reference Committee, and most recently served as Chair of the House Special Committee to Determine Board Honorarium.

    As a clinical teacher and faculty member, Dr Poole participates actively in the support and education of PT students as adjunct clinical faculty for Alabama State University and Georgia State University Physical Therapy Departments. In addition, he is known as a physician educator, teaching assessment of musculoskeletal injuries and appropriate referral of patients to physical therapy to physician members of the American Association of Family Physicians for over 25 years.

    Dr. Poole is the recipient of APTA’s Lucy Blair Service award for distinguished service to the profession of physical therapy. In 2016, he was selected as a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association, awarded to members whose contributions to the profession through leadership, influence, and achievements demonstrate frequent and sustained efforts to advance the profession of physical therapy.Description text goes here

  • Dr. Davis is a home health physical s, PT, DPT, MBA/MHA therapist in Atlanta, GA. He has served in leadership roles including Rehabilitation Department Manager, and APTA-GA elected positions including Treasurer, Delegate, and member on the Board of Directors. Currently, he is proudly serving as the RM Barney Poole Leadership Academy Chair within APTA-GA and the Georgia Foundation of Physical Therapy Treasurer. Awards include APTA-GA Outstanding Outgoing Board Member Award (2020) and RM Barney Poole Outstanding Leader Award (2021). Dr. Davis holds a DPT degree from New York University and a Professional MBA/MHA degree from Georgia State University.

  • Dr. Green-Wilson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Healthcare Studies at SUNY Brockport.  She is also the principal of the Institute for Business Literacy and Leadership in Rochester, NY. She is the founding Director of the LAMP Leadership Institute for the Academy of Leadership and Innovation (formerly HPA the Catalyst) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), as well as a past member of the Private Practice Section (PPS-APTA) Education Committee.  Previously serving as a Director on the Board of Directors of the APTA, she speaks nationally and internationally on topics related to leadership, business literacy, and management in healthcare. Dr. Green-Wilson was awarded the Academy of Leadership and Innovation’s LAMPLighter Leadership Award (2014), the Rochester Hearing and Speech’s James DeCaro Leadership Award (2017), and the 2019 RM Barney Poole Leadership Academy Award for Excellence in Leadership and Education from APTA Georgia.  Dr. Green-Wilson works with several doctor of physical therapy programs and diverse healthcare organizations across the country, helping to strengthen the development of practice management, business literacy, teamwork, and leadership skills at entry-level and in contemporary practice.  Dr. Green-Wilson holds an Ed.D. degree in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY, a MBA degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BS degree in physical therapy from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canadan text goes here

  • Dr. Seethaler is an orthopaedic physical therapist, currently in the Brooks Rehabilitation/ University of North Florida Orthopaedic Residency Program. Carly graduated with her B.S.Ed. in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Georgia in 2019, and then graduated from Mercer University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2022. During her schooling for physical therapy, she participated in local and national leadership, serving as the President of the APTA Georgia Student Focused Interest Network, an Ambassador for the APTA PT Moves Me Campaign, and a Student Member of the ACAPT Leadership Academy Student Leadership Academy Subcommittee. Currently, Carly serves as a member of the RM Barney Poole Leadership Academy and the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy 50th Anniversary Planning Committee. 

    Dr. Seethaler has been honored with awards including APTA Georgia Horizon Award, Team Rehabilitation/ Georgia Foundation for Physical Therapy Scholarship, AOPT Outstanding Physical Therapy Student Award, and RM Barney Poole Leadership Academy Student and Early Career Professional Scholarship; additionally, she is a graduate of the RM Barney Poole Leadership Academy Certificate Program.

  • Zachary Walston, PT, DPT is a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. He earned his BS in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Emory University, and is a graduate of PT Solution’s Orthopaedic Residency Program.

    As the Head of Clinical at Second Door Health, Zach leads clinical strategy, research, and content creation. Prior to Second Door, he served as the National Director of Quality and Research and Orthopedic Residency Program Coordinator at PT Solutions, overseeing process and quality improvement activities for over 1200 clinicians

    Zach lectures nationally and publishes research specific to orthopedic physical therapy. He has developed and taught weekend continuing education courses in the areas of plan of care development, exercise prescription, pain science, and nutrition.

    Zach is the recipient of the 2020 APTA GA Chapter Emerging Leader Award. He is an APTA Centennial Scholar, representing the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Previous appointments include treasurer for APTA GA and the APTA Science and Practice Affairs Committee.

  • Dr. Beth Collier is a clinical associate professor of the Department of Physical Therapy. She was awarded her Doctor of Education from Creighton University, Doctor of Physical Therapy from Georgia State University, and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia. She also completed her residency in orthopaedic physical therapy, a fellowship in education of physical therapists and fellowship in orthopaedic manual physical therapy from Mercer University.

    Dr. Collier is a Board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.  She has experience practicing in hospital-based and private outpatient clinics.

    Her current teaching responsibilities include gross anatomy, applied anatomy, movement science, and physical therapy examination and intervention in the entry-level and orthopaedic residency, and fellowship in manual physical therapy programs.

    Her research addresses components of clinical reasoning and decision making, patient outcomes, and persistent pain. She has presented locally and nationally in these areas.

    Dr. Collier is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), APTA Georgia, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. She currently serves in leadership roles in state and national professional organizations. 

  • Dr. Braxley describes himself as an advocate for the Physical Therapy profession, a Neurologic Rehabilitation clinician, and a technophile. He has practiced Physical Therapy in four states and on two continents. He brings reflective reasoning and positivity to his roles as he builds rapport with clients and colleagues. When possible Dr. Braxley seeks to leverage technological solutions to improve the efficiency of the systems in which he participates.
